CFL lamps have been manufactured to provide you with a complete solution to your horticultural lighting needs, three different sizes of lamp to allow for use in a wide range of horticultural settings, for example:
The relatively low heat levels emitted from CFL’s allows you to place your lamp within a few inches of the canopy, this means that light is absorbed directly by the plant and not lost as ‘waste energy’.
Use CFL lamps for propagation of seedling and cuttings, without risk of too much heat energy (often caused by using HID’s) on young, sensitive plants.
CFL’s also offer a complete horticultural lighting solution and can be used to grow plants in all stages of their life cycle, from seedling to flower or fruit.

Our CFL's can also be used in conjunction with High Pressure Sodium and Metal Halide lamps.
Using solely HPS (or MH) lamps do have some associated disadvantages:
The spectrum of light given off by Sodium lamps is for the major part in the red spectrum of the light range. Although this promotes strong flowering it also means that plants ‘stretch’ very quickly and do not stay short and dense. This can be a serious problem for people growing with limits on height.
PowerPlant CFL’s offer a far safer form of plant lighting. Fire hazard is greatly reduced when compared with HPS sytems.
By supplementing your HPS setup with CFL’s you are providing your plants with a more lifelike representation of sunlight, thus keeping your plants healthy and preventing some of the disadvantages associated with ‘stretching’.
